George Fytilis was born in Pieria, Greece. He studied social science in the University of Thessaloniki and in 1979 attended seminars in the University of Strassburg after a scholarship granted by the European Union. He has two children and appart from literature his interests include Greek folklore and the study of Greek linguistic idioms. He has published eleven books so far. With N. & S. Batsioulas Publications he has published "The children from planet Igarret" (2007), "Five million for your love" (2008) and "Mara, the lady of Vienna" (2009).
